'Globalization, along with all its implications and repercussions in highly diverse areas of society, is a much discussed theme. One aspect which has so far been neglected is the relationship of globalization and design. This exhibition showed the effects that the globalized world has had on design since the 1970s and how design is developed for the globalized world. It was based on a concept of design which includes architecture, graphics, media, fashion, product and industrial design just as much as the design of spheres of life or product processes.'
BGP Architects was represented in the exhibition, organized by the Museum of Design in Zurich, by the project in Hamburg’s HafenCity, while contributions by artists such as Thomas Demand, Fischli/Weiss, Armin Linke and Allan Sekula illustrated special phenomena of globalization.
