Gegenpol | A decelerated and profound examination of selected artworks as a counter-proposal to fast art consumption.
On November 24, we will view the two artworks Schwingung and Die Erklärung von Rio de Janeiro (UNO-Agenda for a better World) by George Steinmann together and discuss them with the artist himself and art historian Isabel Zürcher.
"Which art can make its contribution to a sustainable society? 'Art creators have a responsibility,' George Steinmann is convinced. His consternation about the state of the world has made him a polymath of our time. His locally, regionally, globally rooted knowledge leads him to collaborate with natural sciences and humanities, with social minorities, at climate conferences - and in the self-legislated order of his Bern studio." - Isabel Zürcher
