Integrative Landmark - Elbarkaden HafenCity

BGP_Elbarkaden_Integrativer_Landmark.jpgThe Elbarkaden - being part of the HafenCity, the largest inner-city urban development project in Europe - demonstrate an important contribution to urban sustainability. This meandering ensemble fits into the historical context, skilfully exploits its prestigious waterfront location and is integrally designed to the HafenCity Gold and DGNB Gold standards.

The building brings a wide variety of uses together under one roof. Comprising the new headquarters of Greenpeace Germany, the Designport, apartments, showrooms, shops, restaurants and a spacious city loggia, it generates an urban cosmos that contributes to the revitalisation of the whole quarter.

This monograph presents the Elbarkaden in HafenCity Hamburg. Texts by the architects and Prof. Jürgen Bruns-Berentelg, CEO of HafenCity Hamburg, are accompanied by numerous colour photographs and plans documenting the building, which was erected between 2009 and 2014.
