After thirty years, the Status Seminar, the most important Swiss symposium in respect of energy and environment in the construction sector, had been given a new title: ‘Research and Construction in the Context of Energy and the Environment’.
As before, research and development projects were presented and their results were made available to professionals working in construction, building services and environmental engineering. The focus lied on future-oriented development and on visions for construction.
In addition to the lecture sessions on individual topics, the organisers had invited Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart (Dutch Research Institute for Transitions), Dr. phil. II Geograph Johannes Heeb (President of the International Ecological Engineering Society) and Nick Beglinger (CEO of the Foundation for Global Sustainability) and others to deliver keynote addresses. Bob Gysin of BGP Architekten was giving a lecture on 'Architecture and Sustainability – Building in Hamburg’.
