Distinction 2014

The main task of the BDA - the German Architects Association - is to raise and promote the quality of design and construction in view of the profession's responsibility towards society and the environment. The BDA Hamburg Architecture Award is presented with the aim of honouring buildings that are exemplary in this respect and are located in the metropolitan area of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

The Elbe Arcades were awarded a second prize, because they raise public awareness of quality in design and construction and set quality benchmarks in contemporary architecture.

The award ceremony was held in Hamburg on 29th January, in the presence of a prestigious international Jury.
